feltbokki
feltbokki is a combination of felt from needle felting, an art that uses needles to sculpt wool into solid shapes (e.g., animals and lima beans) and bokki from tteokbokki 떡볶이, a popular korean rice cake dish.
my dictionary life
after tagging along with my friend on an enchanting trip to the netherlands to visit her architect brother, i embarked on a slow but steady journey of studying and learning the dutch language. my korean language odyssey, meanwhile, began with the film castaway on the moon 김씨 표류기, which enlightened me to the exquisite world of korean cinema and expanded my curiosity to explore my paternal lineage.
i created and illustrated my dictionary life after struggling to find illustrated dual-language dictionaries that contain original drawings instead of stock photos or clip art. the dutch edition was reviewed by professional native dutch translators, while the korean edition was reviewed by my native korean friend whom i followed to the netherlands.
let!s learn together
learning a new language can often be a solitary endeavor, especially for us self-learners. but learning alone together can be its own special community, especially if that community includes felt friends. and as your felt friends like to say: stickers make learning more colorful and fun — and learning is more fun when we all stick together!
